Walmart Presents: 3rd Annual JA More than Money 5th Grade Conference

The 3rd Annual Wal-Mart More than Money Conference is once again coming to Aetna! This conference is open to all Connecticut 5th grade students.

The conference is scheduled for October 29, 2010 at Aetna in Hartford, CT. Presenting sponsor is the Wal-Mart Foundation, with supporting sponsorship from the Aetna Foundation.

The conference, which is being organized by Junior Achievement of Southwest New England, will start with registration from 9:30– 9:45am. The conference will begin at 10am with keynote, Joe Young of Young Studios in Aetna’s auditorium. Students will then go to break-out sessions in which they will use the JA Curriculum – More than Money. These break-out sessions are going to be facilitated by JA volunteers. The conference will conclude at 1:30pm.

Students will meet and work with other 5th grade students from different schools while they are in their break-out sessions. This is a chance for students from different backgrounds and schools to have a chance to get to know one another.

The conference is free to students and their teachers and lunch is provided (although each school must provide their own transportation) and we will be accepting registrations of 20 - 25 students from each school on a first-come first-served basis.

Space is limited. If you are interested in reserving spots right now, you may do so by contacting Roslynn Hooks at JA - rhooks@jaconn.org. Please let me know no later than October 5th - how many students and teachers will be attending (and their names if you know them). Please only reserve space if you are certain you and your students will attend.

We are excited about the conference and hope your school can participate.
