JA High School Programs

As high school students begin to position themselves for their future, there are many unanswered questions about what lies ahead. Junior Achievement's high school programs help students make informed, intelligent decisions about their future, and fosters skills that will be highly useful in the business world. With a range of different programs, Junior Achievement teaches about concepts relating to entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and work readiness. The volunteers bring real-life business experience and guidance into the classroom at a time that represents an essential crossroads for young people.

JA Banks in Action™ teaches high school students the principles of the banking industry and familiarizes them with the challenges of successfully operating a bank in a competitive environment. Eight required, volunteer-led sessions.

GLOBE Enter the world of joint ventures with Global Learning of the Business Enterprise (GLOBE). In addition to a text that emphasizes global economics and business, the students compete in an online business simulation or operate a joint-venture company with JA students in another country. It’s a hands-on application of global business. GLOBE is a cross-cultural experience that features the fundamentals of international trade.

JA Company Program™ analyzes and explores personal opportunities and responsibilities within a student-led company. Twelve required, volunteer-led meetings.

CAPSTONE PROGRAM

JA Job Shadow™ introduces students to careers through one-day, on-site orientations in the workplace. Two teacher-led classroom sessions prior to the work-site visit, and one follow-up classroom session.
